Saint Christopher
Patron Saint of Dogs, Children, and Travelers
The name Christopher means Bearer of Christ. The "Book of Calendar Feasts" refers to Christopher as a legendary race of giants with human body and canine head. Legend states he became in service to Christ helping travelers cross a river. One day he carried a child who became very heavy. With great effort he finally reached the far shores where the child exclaimed that he was The Christ, and Saint Christopher had indeed carried the weight of the world on his shoulders that day.
