It is named after the creator of Bitcoin who takes the pseudonym, Satoshi Nakamoto. The satoshi symbol has a digital feel and echoes the concept of stacking sats. It is similar to the Japanese character " (image) " meaning: bountiful, abundant, beautiful, lush, plenty, luxurious growth of grass. The act of accumulating sats regularly through mining, buying, or earning is called "stacking sats." This term emphasizes that even very small accumulations of Bitcoin are useful because the value they are expected to have in the future. Bitcoin is a currency that democratizes finance. It allows individuals to transact with one another without the involvement of a government issuer, a bank or other third party intermediary. This allows people greater freedom and more prosperity than the current fiat money system.
